For the special issue dedicated to wine, I created this map of the denominations of origin across Spain. The piece was entirely handmade, combining acrylic paint and mixed media techniques to emphasize gesture and the material quality of the mark.
I developed a pictorial and color-driven approach to reinforce the connection with the land, wine, and landscape, using visible marks and strokes that evoke the organic forms of the territory and vineyard fields. I also incorporated small illustrative elements that add a narrative dimension to the composition.
