Travel Sketchbook. Réunion Island
This project presents a selection of drawings made during my stay on Réunion Island, where I participated as an artist in the Embarquement Immédiat festival.
The drawings are based on direct observation: landscape, people, markets, the island’s colors, plants from the species conservatory, a créole house, fruits, the excursion to Îlet Boulon, and the Piton de la Fournaise volcano. There is also a double spread dedicated to the skies, which are especially intense and constantly changing.
Most of the works are made using acrylic, sometimes combined with gouache and mixed media such as colored pencils and Neocolor.
