During the year 2016, CRAG carried out an outreach project aimed to publicise it’s research results and their social repercussion through the accessibility and freshness of sketching, thereby fostering scientific culture. I was invited with four more sketchers to participate in this project: We put on the lab coat and gloves and were immersed in the plant and farm animal research world. Through our drawings and annotations we explain didactically the different projects and discoveries made by CRAG researches. Our drawings and those from the nearly hundred sketching amateurs, who visited CRAG on an open house, set up an exhibition, an audiovisual and a book which were presented in the Library Sagrada Família- Josep M. Ainaud de Lasarte as a part of the Science Week.
The project was led by the CRAG researcher Elena Monte in collaboration with Zahorí de Ideas-Drawing on Location, and was funded by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT-15-9720) and by the Severo Ochoa Centres of Excellence in R&D Programme 2016-2019 (SEV-2015-0533), both of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, and by Semillas Fitó.
